Melvin Bratton is a host on the U Talk Sports Show and a University of Miami football legend. A Miami Northwestern High School product, he played running back and fullback for the Hurricanes from 1984 to 1987, finishing with 32 career touchdowns — tied for third in program history — 26 rushing scores, 192 points and 2,455 all-purpose yards. He led Miami to the 1987 national championship, catching nine passes for 102 yards in the Orange Bowl win over Oklahoma, including the opening touchdown, before suffering the knee injury that reshaped his professional career. He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Bratton went on to the NFL with the Denver Broncos and played in Super Bowl XXIV, later scouting for the Atlanta Falcons and running NFC pro personnel for Washington. Today he is CEO and president of MB5 Sports Group, an Atlanta-area agency representing professional athletes, and is certified by both the NFLPA and the NBPA. He joined U TALK as a host in 2025.
