The Rundown Take
Ain't no us without you, baby. LFJ opened this Tuesday morning the way every U Talk show opens, then went straight at the question Canes fans keep hearing: why is everybody so mad at Miami? This edition of Utalk's Extra Point runs just over five minutes. It's short, it's early and it's direct, and it puts words to something a lot of the U Talk family has been feeling.
LFJ isn't talking about friendly trash talk. He means the aggressive attacks. He says every time he opens social media, turns on the TV or just talks to somebody, he hears the same lines: Miami hasn't played anybody. Miami has played high school teams. The strength of schedule is in the 60s. Y'all need to play somebody. If you ride with the Canes, you've heard all of it, probably more than once this week.
LFJ's answer is simple and hard to argue with. His message is: "Dear Miami haters... don't be mad at Miami. Be mad at everybody on Miami's schedule." Schedules are made years in advance. Miami didn't pick its opponents last month based on who would be good or bad in 2026. It plays the games in front of it.
Then he adds some history. LFJ reminds people that Clemson and Florida State were the class of the ACC at one point. In his words, it's not Miami's fault that Clemson and Florida State no longer are. He goes through other names on the conference slate, including Stanford, and gives Wake Forest credit because they're actually doing pretty well right now. That's the honest, fan-first breakdown you come to U Talk for. He isn't making excuses. He's pointing out that the people complaining about the schedule are blaming the wrong team.
Why watch? First, it's quick. You can catch the whole thing over your morning coffee. Second, LFJ is clear that this is a conversation, not a lecture.
